Gallagher Bassett Services (GB) has announced the launch of the GB Transportation Major Case Unit (MCU). The MCU is a claims-handling center of excellence within the GB Transportation integrated practice unit, and has been established to focus on clients’ most severe, complex and high-exposure claims.
“The transportation industry is facing many challenges, including the increasing rate of adverse litigation, inflated medical costs, plaintiffs being quicker to file – to name only a few,” said Michael Hessling, GB’s CEO for North America. “To help manage these complex issues, GB has established the MCU to provide additional expertise and specialized focus on unique transportation exposures. The MCU is one example of a tailored liability solution our GB Transportation team has created and implemented to help our clients more easily reduce their total cost of risk.”

In addition to Dunlap, GB’s transportation practice leaders include Lori Ilgenfritz, account principal; Jim Martin, MCU lead; and April Brackett, vice president of industry marketing. The MCU will serve GB’s trucking and transportation clients – large corporate fleets, insurance carriers, captives, and program administrators who specialize in transportation risks.
