Wholesale specialty insurance distributor CRC Group has announced the appointment of Kristyn Smallcombe (pictured above) as casualty practice group director, effective Jan. 24.
In her new role, Smallcombe will report to Bob Greenebaum, national casualty practice group leader for CRC Group’s Commercial Solutions Division. She will be based in the company’s Chicago office.
Smallcombe has more than 20 years of industry experience. She joins the company from Argo Group US. She has also held senior casualty positions at Swiss Re and AIG/Lexington.
“Kristyn offers a strong background and unique skill set that we are excited to welcome into the casualty practice to the benefit of our casualty teams, retail clients and carriers,” said Mike Brennan, CEO of CRC Group’s Commercial Solutions Division. “Our casualty practice is well-respected across the industry for its deep experience and expertise. I am confident that bringing Kristyn on board will enable us to provide even better support to our clients, ultimately empowering them to deliver winning solutions for insureds.”
CRC Group’s casualty practice uses data delivered by the company’s proprietary REDY platform to deliver better outcomes for clients.
“We are making a significant investment in our casualty practice to better serve our clients and provide greater support to our brokers and underwriters,” Brennan said. “We are working to launch new exclusive casualty products under our Insurisk brand later this year. We are also enhancing our REDY platform to bring greater efficiency and reliable data and analytics support to our casualty team.”
Last year, CRC Group acquired BenefitMall, America’s largest employee benefits wholesale general agency.
